After Your Certification to the Eligible Register
After you have received notification by email that you have been certified to the eligible register, the following are some of the things you might anticipate:
- If, after a review of your application, Supplemental Questionnaire, and examination results, the department wishes to consider you further, you will be invited for a personal interview. The decision as to who will be interviewed and employed will be made by the department doing the hiring, with the concurrence of the appropriate reviewing authorities. There are specific
equal employment opportunity guidelines provided to the department that they must consider with each position.
- Candidates selected for positions which require a health screening must be certified fit for duty to be eligible for hire.
- Candidates selected for positions which require a CDL or which are designated as safety sensitive must pass a drug screening to be eligible for hire.
- Once you are deemed eligible for hire, all selected candidates will be scheduled to report for your entrance processing which includes finger printing and a check for any criminal record.
- Your eligibility to be hired in accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 will be checked. Should you be offered employment, you will need to provide copies of identification documents required by this act.
( Acceptable documents to meet this requirement)
- Your hiring will be delayed until the required documents are submitted. In all cases, you will need a Social Security Card (the actual card) and will be required to present it during your entrance processing. If you have lost your card notify your nearest Social Security Administration Office
, so a replacement can be issued.
