To encourage, showcase and recognize the artistic talent of our employees and family members, the County’s Unified Personnel System (UPS) has joined together with The National Arts Program for the second annual exhibit of The National Arts Program in Pinellas, COLORS OF PINELLAS, the Pinellas County Employee Art Show.

One of the most innovative grass roots arts projects in the country, The National Arts Program has achieved wide-spread recognition. Established as a pilot project in 1983, the program has extended nationally and now reaches some 200 cities and communities throughout the nation.

COLORS OF PINELLAS will provide an opportunity for artists at all levels to show their work in a public venue and to compete for prizes and art scholarships. The show will be judged by Pinellas County art professionals.

Artists may enter a total of two pieces in the media of their choice. Categories include:

  • Painting (oils, acrylics)
  • Works on Paper (watercolor, pencil, ink, charcoal, pastel, marker, crayon, digital)
  • Photography (black-and-white, color)
  • Sculpture
  • Craft (ceramics, glassworks, jewelry, woodcarving, fiber)
  • Mixed Media (a work of visual art that combines more than one medium)

Artwork will be judged according to classifications. These are:

Intermediate - a person with some experience, beginning art students, etc. Professional - a person with serious art training, or employed in an art related job.

Youth
