Pinellas County Employee Wellness Program

The County promotes a healthy lifestyle and provides employees with education and access to relevant activities through its Wellness Program.

The Wellness Program includes:

• Chronic disease prevention/management programs
• Lunch n’ Learns
• Screening programs, such as cholesterol, skin cancer, and vision screenings
• Comprehensive education programs are offered on stress reduction and weight management
• Wellness newsletter To Your Health is distributed monthly to all employees, containing articles on food and nutrition, exercise, family health and disease prevention/management, and class schedule

Start! Fit-Friendly Company – Gold Level Recipient

It is truly an honor to be able to annouce that Pinellas County Government has been recognized as a Start! Fit Friendly Company. For those of you who are not yet familiar with the program, it is an award given by the American Heart Association's Start! initiative. It is intended to be a catalyst for positive change in the workplace across America and right here in Pinellas County. It recognizes companies that demonstrate progressive leadership by making the health and wellness of their employees a priority!

Pinellas County Government has been recognized at the Gold level, which means that: 

1. We offer all employees physical activity support at the worksite
2. We have increased the number of healthy eating options available to you as employees
3. We promote a wellness culture at the worksite
4. We embrace at least nine criteria as outlined by the American Heart Association in the areas of physical activity, nutrition and culture

As a Start! Fit-Friendly Company, we are true corporate trailblazers who have adapted the very spirit of the Start! initiative and have the vision to see the positive impact Start! will have on the health and wellness of employees and the company.
