What is the Health Rewards Program? The HealthRewards Program is a points-based, personalized incentive program designed to help Pinellas County employees and their spouses Image of heart made of reward cashcovered under a UnitedHealthcare medical option meet their health goals by rewarding certain health and wellness activities. In addition to greater health, participants can earn points which are then credited in the form of dollars on a quarterly basis via payroll. We have also prepared a Program Overview document to help spell out all the details.

Why is Pinellas County offering the Health Rewards Program? Pinellas County is committed to creating a culture of health and well being in which all our employees and their families can help improve and/or maintain their physical and financial health.

Who is eligible for these incentives, and what about dependents?
All employees (even if you opt out of health coverage) are eligible, except for temporary employees.    Spouses of employees are also eligible, provided they are covered under the County health plan.

How does the Health Rewards Program work?

image of blue arrow If you and your spouse are enrolled in UnitedHealthcare’s medical coverage for 2012, you are both automatically enrolled in the Health Rewards Program.  Employees who are opted out of the health plan may also participate to earn incentives.  Spouses of opted out employees are not eligible.

image of blue arrow You and your covered spouse may earn points for completing eligible health actions, such as a biometric screening, health assessment or OptumHealth Telephonic Wellness Coaching Program, any time during calendar year 2012. Refer to Incentive Categories and Rewards Schedule

image of blue arrow One point equals $1 towards a Health Reward (up to $200 per person). Health Rewards will be paid out on a quarterly basis four times a year.  Annual incentive payment maximum, all programs and categories combined is $200.

image of starThe more health actions you complete, the more points you earn, helping you improve your health and earn rewards!

When can I begin earning points? You can begin earning points immediately and any time during calendar year 2012.

When is the deadline to earn points?  You can earn points toward the 2012 Health Rewards Program for activities completed on or before December 31, 2012. 

image of lockWho can see my information? Point information can only be seen by the employee, and the spouse scorecard and points can only be seen by the spouse. This information it is not available to Pinellas County and family members cannot view each others information. This also applies to your claims information. Pinellas County is very sensitive to privacy issues. We respect your right to privacy. Our business practices are in full compliance with the privacy requirements under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).
