Begin by creating a realistic budget plan:

Know what bills are due and when.

Focus on Money Personalities - website at Purdue University to help you understand your spending style. It includes a quiz, explanation, and guides to dealing with the different personalities.

MyMoney.gov is the U.S. government's website dedicated to teaching all Americans the basics about financial education. Whether you are planning to buy a home, balancing your checkbook, or investing in your 401k, the resources on MyMoney.gov can help you do it better. Throughout the site, you will find important information from 20 federal agencies government wide.
Money and Taxes at USA.gov provides official information and services from the U.S. Government such as consumer guides, financial agencies, money management, saving and investing, retirement planning, etc.
Managing in Tough Times at Pinellas County's Extension Service provides research-based resources you can trust. Pinellas County Extension has pulled-together a “one-stop-shop” for resources related to Managing in Tough Times. These include: Financial advice and planning, Personal well-being and Family issues during tough times.
Pinellas Federal Credit Union - offering special programs and services to help you deal with your financial obligations. Some program options available are: payment extensions, payment reductions, and debt restructuring.

If you are having problems with credit or budgeting, get credit counseling. For more information you can contact the Consumer Credit Counseling Service at 1-800-984.0977 or through their website at www.cccsfl.org .
You can review your credit reports from each of the three credit reporting agencies at least once a year. You can contact these companies at the following:
