Foreclosure Prevention Website Goes Live
A foreclosure prevention workshop recently helped hundreds of struggling homeowners find solutions to their mortgage difficulties. The event, held Oct. 18 at the Coliseum in St. Petersburg, was cosponsored by Pinellas County, St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Largo.
A video showing the expert presentations is now available on-line at a new foreclosure prevention website, www.pinellascounty.org/foreclosure. Information includes “What Foreclosure Means to Your Credit,” “Foreclosure from the Lender’s and Borrower’s Points of View” and “Mortgage and Consumer Fraud.”
The foreclosure prevention website features all the participating speakers and offers contact information for non-profit participants as well as local agencies that provide counseling in the area of credit and foreclosure. The biggest part of foreclosure prevention is consumer education: getting homeowners to take advantage of tools to keep them in the house that they’re in before it goes to foreclosure.
