How to Schedule Inspections:

There are two(2) ways in which inspections may be requested.

• An automated telephone system commonly referred to as I.V.R.
• On-line.

Contractors may use either way, homeowners may only use the I.V.R. (phone).

• I.V.R.: To access the I.V.R. system you will need a user ID and PIN number. You can obtain your user ID and PIN number in a few different ways:
  • to set up an account email us;
    • homeowners, if e-mailing, simply indicate that you are a homeowner and include your permit number.
  • call our office;
  • when you are processing your permit;
  • contractors must supply the license holder's name, license number and company name;

 

• On-line: Access to on-line inspection requests requires another user ID and PIN number. You can obtain your user ID and PIN number in a few different ways, see above.

With this automated system, you can also receive the inspection results, and cancel an inspection that is scheduled for the following day, or any day after. You must still call our office directly if you wish to cancel an inspection that is out for inspection on the day you wish to cancel.

Establishing Inspection Times:

We do try to accommodate both the contractor as well as the homeowner in scheduling inspection times that are convenient and workable for both the customer and the inspector. However, due to the volume of inspections we cannot set a specific time that we will be at your home or job site. You do have a few options however to try to establish a base time for your inspection. All of the inspectors can supply you with a window of an hour or two depending on their daily workload. We also do what we refer to as a "Call Ahead". To do this, call our office and talk with the actual inspector or their supervisor, provide us with a contact telephone number and how much lead time you will require to be notified prior to the inspector arriving. Once this is established, the inspector will call you and let you know that he will be arriving at you site in the arranged time frame. We suggest that you call our office the day of the inspection between 8:00 and 8:20 am.

Ability to Schedule Inspections in Advance:

With the automated inspection system, you have the ability to schedule inspection as much a nine (9) business days in advance. When you login to the system, you will be given the option to select the day you would prefer the inspection. Once this is set you will be give a confirmation number as you receive on any inspection request. Our system will then hold that request until the proper day you requested it.

Online Permitting Now Available for Licensed Contractors:

You are now able to apply for a login ID and password to access the online permitting system. This new enhancement allows you to do all the functions available on the I.V.R., plus you can add inspection notes to inspector in a comment field available, and retrieve the inspection results along with any comments made by the field inspector. You will be able to pay certain fees online with your credit card and if you are a licensed contractor, you will be able to apply for and receive certain simple permits online. We are unable to issue permits online to homeowners however due to state laws that require owners to appear in person.
