• Nuisance Animal form

Pinellas County responds to calls of public nuisance. Our procedure is to alert and educate the pet owner that neighbors are disturbed by their dog (s) and or cat (s) which are creating a particular nuisance (s),

and ask the owner to stop the disturbance.

Once we have made contact with the pet owner and advised them of the law, and if neighbors continue to experience and witness the nuisances, Animal Services can issue a $143.00 citation based upon at least two signed verified public nuisance animal statements from unrelated people living in separate dwellings from one surrounding area. Citizens that sign these statements must be willing to appear in court to testify if the citation is contested.

The verified public nuisance animal statements must be filled out completely and signed. Both parties should begin documentation on the same date and continue to document for the entire week. The time of the offense,the address, where to offense took place, as well as the type of offense must also be listed.

The documents should then be mailed to Animal Services together. Animal Services will determine if the statements contain enough information to warrant a citation.
