County Administrator

The County Administrator manages the business of county government and reports to the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners.
Robert S. LaSala, County Administrator, joined the county on Oct. 12, 2008.
He has served counties and cities for over 35 years. Most recently he managed cities in California for ten years addressing the challenges of high growth, fiscal constraints, and redevelopment. Prior to his service in California, Bob served counties and cities in Florida for 18 years. Ten of those years were spent as the Chief Assistant County Administrator for Pinellas County. His early local government career was in cities in New York and New Jersey.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in History from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY and his Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Bob is a graduate of the Senior Executive Institute at the University of Virginia and is recognized by the International City/ County Management Association as a Credentialed Manager.
Bob has served on the board of directors of the Alliance for Innovation, a network of local governments throughout the United States and Canada committed to bringing innovative techniques and best practices to local governments. In addition, he has held leadership positions in local government advocacy at the state and local levels.
Bob has been an active volunteer in the communities he has served. He is a graduate and active member of Leadership Florida. He has a particular interest in Habitat for Humanity and has held leadership positions in several local affiliates.
Bob is married. He and his wife have one daughter.
