In the next 10 years, the Penny will generate an estimated $1.4 billion. Due to the economic downturn, the amount collected from the 1-cent sales tax will be less than originally estimated. The list of projects that were originally planned for this time period had to be modified as a result of the reduced funding.

Expenditures include both Penny and non-Penny expenditures. The Penny for Pinellas is the primary source of funding for governmental projects. Other revenues include grants, reimbursements, transportation impact fees, tourist development taxes, etc.
